Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Contemporary is my favorite genre, (along with Mystery and Action-Adventure), so I had a lot of fun listing My Top Ten Favorite Contemporary YA Authors.

1.   Meg Cabot

Meg Cabot is the queen of fiction from her fabulous novels in the adult category to the Young Adult genre to children’s books!

 2.     Janette Rallison

Janette Rallison’s books are always so unique and hilarious! I have 6 of them proudly sitting on my shelf. You can see my review of Janette’s My Unfair Godmother here.

I love Ally Carter’s Heist Society and Gallagher Girls series! See my review of I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You (GG #1) here.

 4.     Jessica Brody

Jessica Brody has such a fun, hilarious, totally amazing writing style! You can see my review of Jessica’s book 52 Reasons to Hate My Father here.

 5.     Lauren Myracle

The book pictured above Lauren Myracle actually co-authored with Sarah Mlynowski and E. Lockhart, but she also wrote many other great books like the adorable Luv Ya Bunches series!

 6.     Michele Jaffe

A friend of Meg Cabot, Michele Jaffe has such fun and awesome books!

Great list! I love contemporary YA, but there are a few authors listed here that I haven’t checked out yet. Very fitting that you put Meg Cabot at the top of the list, she really does rule this genre!

I have only recently gotten into contemporaries. I love Stephanie Perkins! I will have to try these authors as well. I read only one book by Meg Cabot and I do want to read more. Great list and thanks for stopping by!

  7. I’ve only read Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen but I loved it so much! I have This Lullaby sat on my bookshelf and I can’t wait to get into it. I want to check out Ally Carter’s books too, they sound like really fun books!

Thanks for stopping by my post!

  8. Lucy says:

LOVE your list! Sarah Mylnowski is awesome… did you read 10 things we did (and shouldn’t have)… it’s hilarious!! I’ve been meaning to read Gimme a Call since forever, gotta do that soon! I also like Michele Jaffe and of course Sarah Dessen & Meg Cabot are amazing! Cool list, I got some great new ideas for what I want to read next :)

Thanks for stopping by My TTT

  10. Really great list! I will definitely have to check out some of the authors that you’ve listed here.

  11. Great list! I really want to read more YA contemporary books but am not super familiar with the genre.

  12. Awesome list! I love contemporary YA and now I have new authors to check out! :)
I’m especially loving the look of The Squad!
    Thanks for sharing :)

  13. I love Sarah Dessen and Maureen Johnson. They are two authors that I will read anything and everything they write. I only wish I knew about them when I was in high school.

  14. Belle says:

Great list! I haven’t read any but Cabot (and I need to read more of her!) Quite a few of these are in my wishlist or TBR pile though. I wish I had more time to read.

  15. Quinn says:

    Hell, yeah, Meg Cabot!!!

  16. megan says:

Great List! I need to read more Sarah Dessen. Love Ally Carter!

  17. Great list – you’ve got a few I haven’t heard of – I’ll have to check out Michelle Jaffe.

Can you believe I’ve never read a Meg Cabot novel?

You had me at “cheerleader spies”. Gotta get on that Jen Lynn Barnes!

Thanks for stopping by my TTT!

  18. I did my list on contemporary too! It isn’t my favorite genre but when I do read it I try to find feel-good/chick lit books like Ally Carter, Maureen Johnson, and Meg Cabot (who I forgot to put on mine! D:). Sometimes I just need a break from fantasy or paranormal to swoon over some realistic romances and get caught up in a character’s life that could actually happen (if that made sense lol!)

I haven’t read anything Lauren Myracle or Sarah Mlynowski but I’ll have to check them out!
